Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP)
Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) is a vermifiltration based comprehensive and sustainable technological solution developed by us to manage faecal sludge effectively. FSTP can separate solid and liquid wastes to convert them into vermicompost and water for non-potable uses such as gardening, flushing and farming with appropriate treatment.
Faecal sludge management (FSM) is the collection, transport, and treatment of faecal sludge from pit latrines, septic tanks or other onsite sanitation systems. FSM is necessary in densely populated areas where a part of the population is not connected to a sewerage network, and the covering and rebuilding of pit latrines is not possible.
The Faecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) is based on the Tiger Bio Filter technology. It comprises of five main processes:
- Screening
- Anaerobic digestion
- Vermifiltration-I – Residual solid and liquid separation
- Vermifiltration-II – Wastewater treatment
- Polishing – Tertiary treatment
